Dawie Nel has been the Director of OUT since 2002. He holds a Masters Degree and is currently researching the motivations for gay men to have sex. He is an activist but primarily concerned with concrete differences in peoples’ lives. He lives in Pretoria and enjoys the Kruger Park, intelligence and the gay sub-culture.

Jacques completed his Masters in Social Science (Cum Laude) in 2004 at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Jacques completed his internship the following year as a Counselling Psychologist at the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine. He’s joined OUT In February 2007 as the Sexual Health Manager.

Lizette is the office manager of OUT LGBT and has studied Fine Art and Photography.

Mmapaseka "Steve" Letsike joined OUT in September 2005, she is OUTs Advocacy and Mainstreaming Project Manager. Steve is an energetic womens and LGBTIs rights activist, a feminist, and a human rights defender. She is currently studying for a BA degree in Human and Social Studies with Specialisation in Development Studies with UNISA. Jay Matlou started in the Learnership program at OUT through the volunteer system three years ago. Currently he is the co ordinator of the Prevention and Research Initiatives for Sexual Minorities (PRISM) project. He is also studying toward a BA Degree in Psychology through UNISA.

Delene joined OUT in 2005 as a volunteer counsellor and was appointed as the Mental Health Manager in September 2006. She has 16 years experience as a nurse therapist, working therapeutically with various clients in a mental health context. She is passionate about the overall health of LGBT people, specifically that of lesbian and bisexual women.

Iggy Mnisi joined OUT after attending one of the sexual health workshops. He is now on a Learnership Programme and works as a Sexual Health Facilitator. Iggy intends studying Public Relations Management.

Trish comes from Zimbabwe. Trish and her husband arrived here in 2004 wanting to further her studies. She studied at the University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape towards a Bachelor of Social Work degree which I obtained in November 2007. We have a baby-son, Zayne Peter Dzingirayi, who is one and a half years old.

Senkhu has recently joined the OUT family, as a counsellor / facilitator / researcher… He is currently studying towards his honours degree in psychology through Unisa. A true book worm…

Elmie joined OUT as a volunteer for the VCT Clinic in September 2007. She started her nursing career in the military as a student nurse in 1997. She qualified as a General Nurse with Midwifery, Community and Psychiatric nursing and furthered her studies as a Primary Health Care Nurse. She was appointed in a permanent capacity at OUT as the Clinic Nurse on 1 January 2009.

Trudie is a registered nurse in general, midwifery, community and psychiatric nursing. She furthered her studies as a primary health care nurse. She completed her diploma in Nursing Management at the North West University and thereafter her B-Tech Degree in Occupational Health Nursing at the Tshwane University of Technology. She started working at OUT in 2008 as a volunteer and was appointed as the Play Safe Project Coordinator in July 2009.
